Mercy Students Enjoy Cultures of the World

Mercy's International Club organized an assembly to showcase the heritage of Mercy students.

Students wore clothing traditional to their cultures during a Parade of Nations. Alumna Genevieve Libonati '88 was the keynote speaker. Ms. Libonati is the Political Counselor and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Mission to the Organization of American States and spoke about her diplomatic experiences in South America and Afghanistan. Following Ms. Libonati, students were entertained by a group of Mexican dancers and a Russian musician. Senior Julia S. sang a song in Korean, accompanied by Math Department Chair, Felix Sung. Included also were Campus Minister and Religion Chair Becky Egan Hogg and her daughter Margot, who showed off their Irish dancing talent.
