Mercy Girls come from diverse backgrounds. Walking the halls of Mercy High School, they quickly become a community of “Mercy sisters” and are connected for a lifetime. The process of applying to high school can be both overwhelming and exciting; which is exactly why we—your Admissions Team—are here to help you through, step by step, and ensure that you have a positive experience from the first click on our website all the way up to your first day as a Mercy Girl.

One of the best ways to learn about life as a Mercy Girl is to share a day with one, which is precisely what happens on our Visiting Days!
Magic Moments
“Magic Moment” information sessions offer an intimate and relaxed setting for families to learn more about Mercy directly from our President, Mary Beth Lennon '85. Sessions are scheduled monthly, from September through December at a variety of times in an effort to accommodate as many schedules as possible. To sign up, please click here:
Open House
Mercy’s Open House is scheduled for October 19th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come visit our renovated campus and learn more about what makes Mercy Magic.
High School Placement Test
We offer an opportunity for students to take the High School Placement Test right here at Mercy on Saturday, December 7th at 8:30 am if it is not being offered at your current Archdiocesan grade school. If you are not able to make it on December 7th, don't worry—the test is offered again on Saturday, December 14th at an alternate location. Register online to take the High School Placement Test.

Our fall events are designed to help you get acquainted with Mercy and you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the application process.

Mercy's small community and focus on each student's individual goals and gifts mean that every student is given plenty of personal attention and guidance throughout her years here. We are so dedicated to each individual's success that we have implemented a unique Adviser Program, which pairs a student with a faculty member for all four years of their high school career. Advisers meet with their students every day, gets to know the students and their families, sees all report cards, comes to know a student’s strengths and can advise her on what she needs to improve.
Mercy students learn to think globally. From mastering a second language to studying the causes of international conflict, Mercy students see themselves as global citizens. After all, the world is bigger than Baltimore! To be effective in our dynamic society, you’ll need an international perspective, intercultural and language skills, and values that promote positive relationships across cultures. Mercy will give you the tools you need to excel—wherever your future takes you!
Our rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum prepares students to write and communicate ideas confidently, think critically about global issues, and give the gift of their strong leadership to the world.
Mercy’s 4-year Seminar Program ensures that college is in focus from freshman year on. It includes a focus on college and career planning that is sensitive to the particular gifts and needs of each student. With a detailed roadmap from our director of college counseling, students and their parents navigate the college selection process—learning how to choose a college, how to think about future majors and careers, and how to access scholarships and financial aid. Mercy also offers students the chance to earn college credit through AP courses and through dual credit classes with Anne Arundel Community College.
Through our STEM programs, arts programs, the Law and Social Action Program, the Catherine McAuley Honors Program, athletic opportunities, and many clubs and extracurricular activities, there is something at Mercy for every student.
Mercy is the presence of Catherine McAuley in the world. The founder of the sisters of Mercy, Catherine was a strong female leader who was devoted to the Catholic values of education, concern for the poor, compassion for the world, and service to community. Our devotion to God ensures that students leave Mercy ready to make a positive contribution to the world and live out Catherine's legacy for others.
