The role of the director of mission and ministry is to promote the Catholic, Mercy identity of the school through meaningful experiences for the faculty and students. The director of mission and ministry will have a strong commitment to Catholic, Mercy values and an eagerness to promote these values throughout the Mercy community by preparing meaningful liturgies and prayer services, leading inspiring retreats and innovative programs, and supporting awareness of work of the Church with a special focus on the Sisters of Mercy. The director of mission and ministry, along with the principal and president, is responsible for providing the faculty and students with a clear understanding of the Catholic identity of the school and of the mission of the Sisters of Mercy. This person must be a practicing Catholic who is enthusiastic and able to engage and motivate high school girls!
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for creating a program of activities and initiatives to enhance the school’s mission as a Roman Catholic college preparatory school for girls sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy
- Leading formation of faculty and staff
- Teaching two sections of Religious Studies
- Advising a small group of students
- Participating in ongoing professional development
- Attending school events, chaperoning activities, and participating in meetings
- Planning and leading school-wide prayer services and liturgies
- Creating retreat days for each year level
- Supervising and participating in the Frances Warde Service Learning Program
- Working with school counselors to assist students in need

- working and solving problems with department and year-level teams
- participating in ongoing professional development
- attending school events, chaperoning activities, and participating in meetings
Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences
Candidates should be academically strong dedicated to teaching a diverse group of girls in a community that values intellectual pursuits, strong relationships, and spiritual development. The successful candidate will be cognizant of the special role a teacher has in the spiritual and religious development of youth, model critical inquiry and lifelong learning, and demonstrate integrity and fairness in all aspects of community life. Certification in Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences would be ideal, but not necessary. There is also the possibility of part-time teaching, if desired.

- attending a proportionate number of school events, activities, and meetings
