Mercy's Dance Program has expanded! Auditions for Dance Troupe and Apprentice Dance Company are in September.

Mercy’s Dance Program has expanded! There are now two opportunities to participate:

DANCE TROUPE AND APPRENTICE DANCE COMPANY

Auditions for each will be held this September.

DANCE TROUPE

MEET THE DANCE TROUPE WORKSHOP: September 12 & 13, 3:30 pm-5:30 pm

  • Learn more about Dance Troupe.
  • Talk with Dance Troupe members.
  • Get information about the auditions.
  • Take mini-classes in ballet, modern, jazz and improvisation.
  • Receive personal coaching for your audition. Hear about exciting plans for this year.

NOTE: You MUST attend both days of the workshop, unless approved by Director of Dance, Ms. Lang.  


AUDITION FOR DANCE TROUPE: September 14, 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Location for workshop and auditions: Dance Studio

What to wear for workshop and auditions: Any color/style leotard and tights and all dance shoes, if you already own these. Do NOT purchase any items. Gym uniform is okay and barefoot if you do not own dance attire. Hair pulled up and away from face.   For questions, please contact Ms. Lang at glang@mercyhighschool.com


APPRENTICE DANCE COMPANY

New for this school year, the Apprentice Dance Company is designed for students with a desire, passion, and potential for dance, but with a more limited dance background than Dance Troupe or have no prior dance training. The Apprentice Dance Company is selected by audition in September, earns academic credit, and meets an average of 1-2 days a week. The program focuses on developing technical skills in the genres of ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance with exposure to improvisation, composition and choreography. The apprentice Dance Company will have the opportunity to perform in the Spring Concert along with Dance Troupe and will work with both the Director of Dance and Assistant Director during the school year.


AUDITION FOR APPRENTICE DANCE COMPANY: September 18, 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Location: Dance Studio
